Standley Chasm

Located 50km by sealed road from Alice Springs Standley Chasm has been gauged into tough sandstone by the floods that, over untold millions of years, have surged down a narrow tributary of the Finke River system.

The result is a deep red cleft crowded on either side by craggy slopes that rise 80 metres above the floor.

An array of wildflowers flourish in the harsh regions surrounding Standley Chasm.

The Standley Chasm walk is a trail on a natural site. While every precaution has been taken to ensure the walk is safe for every-one, we do insist that all walkers are of moderate fitness, do wear appropriate footwear, carry a water bottle and wear a hat and sunscreen.

You walk our trails at your own risk.

Any injury you incur is not the responsibility of the land owners.
