LOCAL INDIGENOUS GUIDE
As traditional owners of Angkerle, the Western Arrernte people welcome all respectful visitors to the sacred place of our women’s dreaming.
To share our appreciation of this beautiful cultural site, the half-day tours are guided by an Arrente local to provide visitors with the most authentic and knowledgeable understanding of local flora and fauna, as well as our spiritual connection to this ancient land.

The tour includes a guided walk up to Standley Chasm with commentary on
geology, flora, fauna, bush medicine, bush tucker and weaponry. Gain insight into our cultural history and discover what makes this place so special.

Break for some refreshing morning tea, coffee and delicious scones with jam and cream.
Then participate in a guided dialogue about traditional and contemporary Aboriginal society and how we can continue to preserve indigenous culture.
DOT PAINTING WORKSHOP
Later, craft your own souvenir in the dot painting workshop. Learn the traditional techniques and significance behind them in Western Arrernte artwork.
CATERED MORNING TEA & LUNCH
To cap the tour off, enjoy a buffet lunch of cold meats, salads, breads, dessert and fresh fruit (dietary options available) on the verandah of the Kiosk Cafe.
